Simplicity IT Professional Service | Three-week implementation

Foundry IQ Knowledge Grounding: 3-Week Implementation

An agent prototype can answer from documents while still failing permission, retrieval-quality, source-freshness, citation, and operational ownership requirements.

What this implementation gives you

  • A configured non-production Foundry IQ knowledge base with approved knowledge sources.
  • A permission and identity test matrix covering allowed and denied retrieval cases.
  • A retrieval evaluation report covering answer support, freshness, latency, and failure cases.
  • A supported production-path runbook and knowledge-owner operating procedure.

How the engagement runs

  1. Week 1: Select sources and access

Confirm knowledge sources, ownership, access model, data quality, and target architecture.

  2. Week 2: Configure and evaluate

Configure Foundry IQ and Azure AI Search in a customer-approved environment, then run the agreed retrieval evaluation.

  3. Week 3: Test and hand off

Complete permission testing, quality tuning, the operational runbook, knowledge transfer, and the production handoff plan.

Evidence to decision flow

Context approved

The customer confirms scope, access, acceptance criteria, change windows, and named approvers before build activity begins.

Controlled delivery

Simplicity IT builds and tests only the accepted work packages in the customer-owned environment, with evidence recorded at each checkpoint.

Your decision

A named customer owner reviews the exact change, test result, rollback path, operating owner, and cost impact before any production effect or cutover.

Evidence retained

The as-built record, acceptance evidence, rollback status, decision log, and operational handoff are retained according to the customer agreement.

Your approval before production changes

A named customer owner approves each production change or cutover against the agreed scope, test evidence, rollback path, operating owner, and expected cost before it proceeds.

Scope and boundaries

  • Production cutover and enterprise-wide content remediation are excluded.
  • Unsupported source connectors and guarantees for preview-only portal capabilities are excluded.
  • Application user-interface development outside the agreed integration sample is excluded.
  • Production effects require a separate customer-approved release decision.

Microsoft technologies in scope
